Dispute Resolution

Our firm counts among its lawyers, excellent litigators as well as sought-after arbitrators.

We litigate in administrative, tax, import duties, labor, civil and commercial courts. If necessary, we advise our clients regarding cases with criminal implications, and coordinate with a criminal lawyer the attention of such cases.

We have been especially successful before the Chambers of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice, including constitutional appeals of revision before the Constitutional Chamber (our attorneys have been requested to submit these appeals even in trials where they had not participated in the preliminary stages) and cases of amparo (constitutional injunctions).

Our excellent team in Valencia allows us to cover the central region directly, handling litigation for one of the most important Venezuelan industrial consortiums, important banks and other clients.

Our litigation department is one of the largest and most efficient in Venezuela. We have handled over 2,000 cases at the same time because we have the personal and structural resources required to manage a large amount of lawsuits. We review cases on a daily basis, or as required by the specific court where our client's case is active or by the particular procedure applicable to each case.

Our permanent staff of trial attorneys, paralegals and students are highly respected, not only for their legal skills, but also for the integrity with which they deal with the judiciary. This is particularly valued by our international clients (especially those subject to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the U.K. Bribery Act), in this very complicated political and legal climate, since they may rely on our recognized firm’s transparency in representing them before the judiciary and other authorities.

Our involvement in the area of commercial arbitration is very significant, both in national and international jurisdictions. Some of our lawyers are members of arbitration organizations and have adjudicated as arbitrators in important cases. Additionally, we have successfully represented our clients in arbitration procedures, locally (CEDCA, affiliated to AAA, and Cámara de Caracas, affiliated to ICC) and internationally, in places such as Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. One of our partners, a former Coordinator of the CEDCA Consulting Council, is one of its most requested arbitrators.

Our lawyers are renowned authors of legal articles on litigation and arbitration.
